- Practice Photoshop image selections using the sample files on the textbook CD.
- Follow the directions in pp. 124-133 to work with the file Kayak in the Chapter 04 folder.
- Save the resulting file (KayakAD.tif) on your storage device. You will need these files again in the next lab session to complete next chapter's exercise.
- Show what you did during the next presentation, earning up to 2 points.
- Lab activity
- Make and save selections in the two pictures you scanned and adjusted last time.
- Follow up on the planning you did at home for effective ways to combine the two images. Decide which parts of each image need to be isolated.
- Make duplicates of your adjusted files.
- Working on the duplicates, use the knowledge acquired in your research activity to create selections using the most appropriate tools.
- Save each of the selections you create in a separate channel.
- Copy the 2 resulting files (each image with alpha channels) on your storage device. You will need these files again in the next lab session to complete your composite.
- Demonstrate loading each selection during the next presentation to collect up to 3 points more.
- Home activity
- Read the rest of chapter 4 (pp. 119-140 of the textbook).
- Review the editing features of Photoshop to get ready to composite your images during the next lab session.
