- Click on the Flash Card Gallery (blue) tab.
- In section 1, choose The 20th Century (1900-2000).

- After looking at the last card, click Main Menu (bottom-left)
- In section 3, enter 15 for Number of Questions. Leave all other settings unchanged.
- Click Self-Test
- For each artwork, click on the correct answer. This will then take you to the next card.
- Before leaving the computer, make sure to see the instructor to record your self-test results (note: questions graded incorrectly will be adjusted for).
- Home activities
- Prepare for the final (Monday 12/19 6-7:50).
- In the textbook, read about the origin, purpose, and evaluation of art (Chapter 01 The Nature of Art, Chapter 06 Criticism, Chapter 15 Prehistory).
- Find images of two artifacts (objects made by humans), similar in appearance, of which you think that one is art, while the other isn't.
- You can optionally bring in these images next week, during the lab make-up session, to check with the instructor that they conform with the assignment.
- You must bring the images with you for the finals session. At that time you will pick up your wk.1 envelope, and write an essay concerning the works shown in the images.
- The essay you write during the finals session should answer these questions:
- What is art?
- Has your notion of art changed from the beginning of the semester? If so, how?
- Explain the difference between the two works depicted in the images you brought. Based on your definition of art, why does only one qualify as art?
