- Research activity
- Practice using InDesign to preflight by creating a calendar.
- Read the basic information about InDesign at the beginning of Chapter 11 (pp. 389-397). Follow the directions at the end of the chapter (pp. 426-433) to create the first page of a calendar using tables. Finally, do the preflight steps earlier in the same chapter (pp. 420-425) to check the calendar for problems that would interfere with print output, and create a distribution file.
- There is no need to actually print the proofs, but save the package folder with the report TXT file and the PDF on your storage device.
- Show what you did during the next presentation, earning up to 2 points.
- Lab activity
- Create your own calendar.
- Read the information on master pages in Chapter 12 (pp. 438-439 and 444-445). Use what you learned in the practice session to create the first page of a promotional calendar to give to clients, reusing elements from your flyer project. Use a master page to set up your layout, so you can easily go back at a later time to add pages for additional months. Preflight your project and export it to PDF. Again, there is no need to print the proofs.
- Show the calendar, and collect up to 3 points more.
- Home activity
- Read the entire Chapter 11 (pp. 389-434).
- Review the Glossary (pp. 607-618) to polish your professional image.
